What's Included?
Pretty much everything! Smartdrivers’ simple pricing plans include fuel (just use our fuel card), insurance, maintenance, reserved parking and 24/7 emergency assistance. Members can pay by the hour, day, night or weekend. Plus, you get to enjoy "roaming" at no additional charge if you need a car in another Smartdrivers region.
What kind of insurance do you provide? Is there an insurance excess? Do you offer an optional excess reduction fee?
Our comprehensive insurance covers all Smartdrivers members while they are driving Smartdrivers vehicles. Our policy has an excess amount that's reimbursed to you if you are not at fault. You also have the option of paying an annual fee to reduce the amount of excess payable in the event of an insurance claim.

Under 21 Unfortunately our insurer cannot provide cover at this time but we are working to obtain cover for under 21 drivers in the near future.
How can I track how much I’ve spent in Smartdrivers use for the month?
You are able to view your monthly statement on the Smartdrivers reservation system. You can also view the charges for each trip.
How do I reserve a car?
Use your User ID and PIN to login to Charter Drive's Reservation System via the Website, or dial our reservation line to reserve your car. Members can make reservations up to a year or as little as a 3 minute in advance.

You decide the date, time and duration that you need a car, select the most convenient location and if the car is available, it's yours. Our Web system quickly and easily displays surrounding vehicles and their availability.
Can I book on the spur of the moment?
Yes! Cars can be booked 3 minutes in advance and we will soon be introducing a self-service capability which will give members instant access to a car – simply swipe and away you go.
Will a car be available when I need it?
Smartdrivers manages vehicle capacity extremely closely and we deploy additional vehicles as soon as the member:vehicle ratio approaches our carefully formulated threshold. Furthermore, our advanced technology optimises bookings so that there is very little latency.
Who takes care of cleaning and maintenance?
Smartdrivers cleans and washes all vehicles every few days and our policies ensure that members keep the cars clean too.

Smartdrivers also performs all maintenance and repairs. We take special pride in operating a clean and well-maintained fleet!
What about fuel?
Smartdrivers covers the cost of fuel – members simply refuel with a Charter Drive fuel card.
What happens if the car breaks down?
Our vehicles come standard with roadside assistance.
How does Smartdrivers benefit the community?
Smartdrivers is great for the environment and the community. Based on extensive European and US research, it is estimated that each Smartdrivers car replaces between 5 and 10 privately owned cars on the road. Our fleet also uses environmentally friendly vehicles, with lower fuel consumption and low toxic emissions. Services Smartdrivers helps relieve parking congestion, decreases traffic on the road and ultimately reduces vehicle kilometres travelled.

But that’s not all – through contributions to Climate Friendly, our entire fleet is Carbon Neutral! So there is literally no negative environmental impact from our fleet. How cool is that?
